In recent years, Catholics have become more aware that one of the most effective ways to grow as disciples of Jesus is in the context of small groups that learn together, pray with and for each other, and walk together as friends in their spiritual life. Just as the early Christians gathered together in fellowship (Acts 2:42), so too, must we share our lives in Christ by coming together as friends to follow Him.

The purpose of Discipleship Group Facilitator Training is to equip all those who feel called to organize and lead a small discipleship group in reading The Church Evangelizing! in their parish. Dr. Michel Therrien, Secretary for Evangelization and Catholic Education will host these workshops designed to lead participants through the Facilitator’s Guide while focusing on the themes of evangelization and missionary discipleship. There will also be plenty of time for reflection, Q&A, and fellowship with other participants. If you have any further questions, please call the Secretariat for Evangelization and Catholic Education at 412-456-3156.

Want to join a discipleship group but you’re not able to be a facilitator at this time? Check out your parish bulletins and websites to find out how to get involved!
